SJC Cavite City Explores Science and Technology Through Cerebrolympics

St. Joseph College of Cavite, Inc. (SJCCI) took a big step in promoting science and technology education after officially partnering with Cerebro, an educational technology platform designed to improve teaching and learning through digital tools. This partnership shows how schools can use technology to make learning more interactive, engaging, and effective.

One of the highlights of this collaboration was the 27th Campus Elimination Round of Cerebrolympics, which was held at SJC Cavite City on November 6, 2025. Students from the Elementary, Junior High School, and Senior High School levels participated in the competition. The event tested students’ knowledge and skills in different academic areas, especially science, technology, and critical thinking. One top student from each level was chosen to advance to the Regional Semi-Finals.

Cerebrolympics is a nationwide academic competition organized by Cerebro in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology–Science and Technology Information Institute (DOST-STII) and DOST-STARBOOKS. Its main goal is to strengthen students’ academic learning while encouraging the responsible and meaningful use of educational technology. Through digital platforms and science-based questions, the competition helps students apply what they learn in class to real-life problem-solving situations.

Josephians showed outstanding performance fits, especially in personalized learning and providing immediate feedback. Sir Obbie Tarac, the Junior High School coordinator, also added that there is nothing wrong with using AI as long as it is used for the common good and applied with integrity and caution.

This is where the ethical use of AI comes in. Since AI is here to stay, banning or demonizing it will not help. Instead, schools and parents should teach students early on how to use AI ethically and responsibly.
