SAINT JOSEPH COLLEGE OF CAVITE, INC.

From its humble beginning dating back to 1945 as St. Joseph’s Institute and was renamed St. Joseph College in 1947 it has blossomed into one of the respectable educational institution not only in Cavite City but also in the entire province of Cavite.

The Augustinian Recollect Sisters take turns in managing the school. The school’s expansion in buildings and program offerings is in response to the needs and aspiration of the people in the community. An additional baccalaureate program was added at a time when Hotels and Restaurant were beginning to operate in the suburbs as a result of expatriates moving into the province due to opening and development of an export processing zone in the nearby town of Rosario, Cavite.

The school administrators have initiated several innovations, one of which is the construction of a Mock Hotel that will house the Hotel and Restaurant Management (HRM) students for their practicum and the Technical-Vocational Livelihood (TVL) for Senior High School students in their Cookery and Housekeeping subjects.

BRIEF HISTORY

Aside from that, the school has already managed to have the school chapel renovated and all the classrooms air-conditioned and equipped with closed- circuit television cameras (CCTV). There is an on-going construction for the elementary and junior high school building to respond the growing community. Additional laboratory materials have also been purchased for the various laboratories for elementary, high school and college students. The library is continuously acquiring newly published and online books to help students in their assignments and requirements. Computers with internet access have also been provided to all laboratories and offices.

St. Joseph College of Cavite, Inc. is currently offering Preparatory Education, Elementary, Junior and Senior High School, B.S. Nursing, Diploma in Midwifery, Bachelor of Elementary Education, Bachelor of Secondary Education with majors in English, Science, Mathematics and Social Studies, and Hospitality Management. It also offers Graduate Programs for Master of Arts in both Educational Management (MAEd) and in Nursing Management (MAN). The Basic Education Program is PAASCU Accredited Level II.

St. Joseph College of Cavite, Inc. is never left behind as far as board passers is concern. In 2001, Ms. Gloriecel R. Delos Santos gave honor to the Institute of Health Sciences by emerging on top of the Nursing Board Examination, besting thousands of students from all over the country. For the school of midwifery, it ranked 3rd overall last in September 2004, and 1st ranked overall in 2005. The graduates of this school are all successful in their chosen endeavor.

St. Joseph College of Cavite, Inc. is on its 79 years of service and commitment not only to the community but the whole country. It continuous to uphold its mission as an educational institution steadfast inguiding quality Christian Education and academic excellence.
